There was a dude riding a motorcycle.

There was a dude riding a motorcycle five feet behind an eighteen wheeler.

I can't say that this is good practice, but let's think about it for a moment.

It's a very windy day which could cause problems while riding a motorcycle on the interstate.

Drafting (a technique where two vehicles or objects align in a close group reducing the overall effect of drag due to exploiting the lead object's slipstream) reduces wind resistance which could cause less wind problems. 

BUT, does the latter outway the risks associated with riding a motorcycle five feet behind an eighteen wheeler?

The next time I see the guy I'll try to flag him down and ask him.
